About Me

After watching a friend make beautiful quilts, I took on the challenge of making my first quilt, actually first two quilts.  In 2004 I decided to make twin bed quilts for my guest room.  I was immediately hooked and started to look for my next project.  I am someone who has always loved having a project to work on, whether it was needlepoint, knitting or painting, but once I made my first quilt all other projects went by the way side.  I quickly began making quilts as gifts for family and friends.  My quilting perspective changed again when I saw a long arm quilting machine at work and knew that one was in my future.  The idea of creating a quilt from start to finish excited me.  Today I own a Gammill Statler Stitcher longarm machine and I am able to satisfy all my quilting desires.

I look forward to developing my love for quilting by exploring design and color as well as providing customers with beautiful quilting designs to compliment their quilts.   Fabric and design change with the season just like fashion, therefore the possibilities are endless.  It is from this new found passion of creating fun, beautiful, heartwarming quilts that Design in Motion Quilt Studio began.
